Clarion angels only come from one place in the world. The Clarion Islands off the coast of Mexico. They are not especially rare there, but collection permits are strictly regulated. Wild Clarions only come available once a year at best. Average price for a Clarion is $5k+ when they are available. Sourcing, purchasing and transporting is stupid expensive... THEN... you hopefully are successful in breeding then rearing the offspring... $5500 for a captive raised juvenile is actually a great price... Still expensive, but a good price nonetheless.

I'm waiting for captive bred G. personatus to be readily available, and less than $1500....probably not in my lifetime.

I would have to wear diapers if I bought a fish that expensive cause I’ll be crapping my pants everyday worry that nothing bad happens to the fish...

Beautiful fish ScottieB, I hope you were able to use the LA discount code. Best of luck with it and be sure to post some photos. That is a dream fish for most of us Angel lovers. Gotta buy another lottery ticket tonight.

I have two from Bali buy in the Netherlands at the wholesaler Dejong. The price doubled last half year because permission stopped for catching wild. Good for Bali Aquarich ;) but several months in Europe you get not cities which needed for an import last half year. Crazy price...

Yep as stated above. These are CB and typically hardier than WC and the fact that WC are almost impossible to get now, it’s a supply vs demand as stated. Great fish, but tough to stomach that price.
