Received my SC1455 from Adam today. What a beauty! Will post undated as it breaks in.

First impression - dead quiet and NO microbubbles!

I am buying a Deltec when I set up my 120 with 40 sump. What model would you recommend and how much flow/turnover would you recommend for my return pump?

Are the Deltec's pumps needle wheel pumps? They make great products.

Yes they are! In fact Deltec was the original developer of the needle wheel almost 30 years ago now! Other companies have been"borrowing" this idea of theirs for ages now, but none of them have done it quite as well as Deltec, as Sean will soon find out for himself:)

Hi there thanks for posting. I'd recommend the same one featured in this thread. The 1455 or the DC version, the 1456.

let me know if you have any questions at all.

I picked up the 1456 and have been running it for a little over a month on my system... it pulls out some nastiness right away and no bubbles, no hassles! :D

Any reason to go for the dc pump?

I guess if the skimmer was oversized you could dial the pump and air back? I just knew I wanted the deltec pump vs a jabeo, but that's just me. As long as Adam is handling the warranty side of things I would feel totally comfortable with either, although I personally have more faith in AC pumps especially for skimmers. But that's just me.

Sean's right. Dialing down an oversized skimmer may the the best argument for the DCs that I could se, other wise the decision is more a matter of preference. I was a little skeptical about the longevity of the DCs at first but Ive been coming around pretty fast. Reliability has not been an issue at all Im happy to say

Pretty cool to see this happy thread, 'cause . . .

I've just ordered one of the SC1455s, myself!

Looking forward to some that dank nastiness coming out of my cup! (>_<)
