New Documentary on Reefs on Netflix

Thanks for the info.

I saw the trailer for this awhile back and it looks like a great documentary! Didn't know it was out already, thanks for the heads up!

Watched it tonight and it was pretty darn good. I loved the coral nerd. He should be pretty relatable to most of the board. The end credits of the polyp close-up shots are stellar.

Yeah I thought it was great, got me super down though. Some of the information in it was just, well alarming.

Definitely had my full and undivided attention though. Wish I was that coral nerd! That looked like such an eye opening experience.

Yeah kinda hit hard...here at home in s fl and the keys I've seen a lot of coral recession from my childhood til now

Very well put together documentary. I knew bleaching and reef recession was a thing but I did not know how bad it actually was. Eye opening to say the least!

This for sure. I think the scene that hit me the most was when they were filming the water and it was 95F. Just bananas.

Yeah man, imagine what would happen to your tank of it hit 95 for an hour. Annihilation.

It was when they sliced the stats that did it for me. 30% of the Great Barrier Reef dead in one year. Estimated all reefs gone in 20-30 years at the current rate.

That's like my daughter, and her children, may never get to see a reef and it's inhabitants in any form. They'll read about it in textbooks and see it in tanks, because that's the only place it will still be Alive.

These are some of my worst nightmares.

I am in love with biology and it's diversity.
I'm ashamed of our species sometimes, but also inspired.
We should preserve what we can, encourage what we hope for, and aspire to create less environmental change.
