Hi Randy-

Soon I'll be using a doser for my BRS 2part, CA/ALK only. Each reservoir is 1g. What is the best/most accurate way for me to measure out the powders? I feel a little ill prepared. ATM I'm making it up by the quart, via table spoons-lol.
Thank you for your help :)

A scale would be most accurate, but is likely overkill. A measuring cup that is intended to be filled to the top and leveled with a knife is plenty accurate enough for our purposes. :)

I'm using BRS 2part. Can you not just tell me how mush of each to measure out to make a gallon? Although I appreciate the link, I find it confusing and a whole lot of unnecessary reading for me. Especially when all I need is a simple answer. KISS KISS :)

Not sure what the problem is. I give the recipe for exactly 1 gallon. So does BRS.

Here are their step by step directions:

Calcium

Measure out 2 1/2 household measuring cups of Crystalline Calcium Chloride Dihydrate and add to a one gallon jug.

Fill this jug about 4/5th with RO/DI water, secure cap and shake until dissolved

Fill the remainder of the jug with RO/DI or filtered water

Label "Calcium" and let sit for several hours before use

Alkalinity

*Note* Mixing the alkalinity portion directly in the jug is more difficult to dissolve and may result in clumps forming at the bottom. If clumps occur warm the jug in a sink of hot water and shake vigorously.

Fill one of the gallon jugs about 4/5th with RO/DI or filtered water and pour into the empty bucket or bowl

Measure out two level cups of Soda Ash.

While stirring the water slowly pour the Soda Ash into the bucket or bowl.

When dissolved use the funnel to pour the solution into one of the empty gallon jugs

Fill the remainder of the jug with water, cap and label "Alkalinity." Let the solution sit for several hours before use

See that is what I call simple. :) The problem for ME with your "do it yourself" was/is picking out exactly what recipe I needed. Simply, it didn't mention the BRS CA/ALK products.
My mind in no way computes the way yours does ;)
