New egg Crate ! Issues

What do most people do with new egg crate to stop green hair algae and bubbles ?

maybe pre soak in the sump

I don’t think there is anything specific you can do to stop algae growth on them. I have a few frag racks made from egg crate and I will just swap them out if they start growing algae.

I was thinking to just trash it and make a new one .And i read people pre soak them in the sump for a week or so to cycle in.

pre soaking things like frag plugs and tiles is a good idea but probably not much benefit with the egg crate although certainly wouldn’t hurt anything.
