Has anyone used New Era algae pellets? My LFS suggested adding these to my Desjardini sailfins diet because the owner thinks that the dorsal fin damage could be nutrition related. I feed sea veggies everyday and every now and then he'll eat mysis or small pieces of krill.

Great stuff. You may want to look for their Marine Grazer disc's. My tangs, and fox faces love them. Attaches to glass with suction cups.

The new era pellets are great. I'm yet to find a fish that doesn't eat it. I also find it to be pretty "clean" for a dry food. The only minor thing I don't like about the pellets is that they sink a bit too fast in my opinion. The grazers are pretty good too. Again I find them to be "cleaner" than sheets of nori. A lot if times with the nori fish tear it apart and a lot gets lost in the tank. The grazers are also a blend of a couple different algaes which changes things up a bit from sheets of the same algae all the time.

My tangs go crazy for them, personally I prefer them over any other brand. To me a lot less go to waste, being that they're bigger, if any do hit the bottom, my cleaner shrimp scoop them up.
