New feeding method has lowered PO4 and nitrates?!

Morning All

One of the coral sellers here said that they put their frozen cubes on the mesh cover of the tank and so the cube defrosts slowly into the tank. The fish seem to know what is going on and maybe they eat all the food as it comes slowly into the tank, without the waste that used to disappear down the weir. Anyway, my PO4 is down by 0.04 - 0.06 over 4/5 days, and my nitrates have fallen from 12 to 9.9. Maybe this is the way to go? Any thoughts?

That sounds like a clever setup for gradual feeding. As long as none of the Frozen stuff get stuck on the top mesh.
But I don't think spreading out the feeding like that would significantly change the nitrate/phosphate. And your measured changes are gradual enough that they could just be random fluctuations.
It sounds like the fish like it though, so I'd keep it up anyway.
