Hello, im new to this forum. I've been toying around with various filters i have and ive came about with the follow configuration, im pretty amateur at all of this so i would appreciate any input specialy with the order in which i've placed the filters and what not:
First of all i will use 2 x 3 stage filter 4.5 x 20 BB (with a 40 micron 10'' steel mesh pre-filter each), consisting of:
-5 micron (nominal) string wound -> 1 micron (absolute) pleaded cellulose (expensive!)-> Activated alumina.
Each one of these 3 stages will feed a ultrafilration membrane.
The water that comes from each uF membrane goes to a pump rated 35 psi with 10 liters tank that feeds the following:
GAC refillable using a 50/50 mix of anthracite 4x10 /wood charcoal 20 mesh ->0.6 (nominal) CTO
-> Bone char (20x60). Then this goes to a final 10'' x 2.5 CTO (10 microns)
PRE-filter --- S.W->P.C->AAL -------->UF membrane
->PUMP --> GAC->CTO->B.char->CTO
PRE-filter --- S.W->P.C->AAL---------> UF membrane
Is it a good idea to add the string wound or would it drop the pressure innecesarily without added benefit? GAC before the expensive 1 micron pleaded cellulose or after it? Is the UF membrane placed correctly in the chain, or needed at all (they are kind of expensive).
The cost is totalling 2500 dollars as of now, i need 2 water inlets because the flow is insuficient to feed the pump, i havent used the uf membranes yet but with this configuration i can get pass the last filter with a sufficient flow of water, i might need to add a flow pump at the end of this all regardles.
Excuse my english if this is not understandable enough.
