So yesterday I drove to a fish store 2.5 hours away to check it out. I got an amazing deal on a fire fish for only 18$. It looked very healthy so I bought it and drove home. I then acclimated it normally and it got along well with everything in the tank. The next day I found it bent in half, dead stuck in the power head. I’m so sad I was so exited.

I'm willing to bet it was not healthy to begin with, or had issues during Acclimating.

Healthy fish don't really get stuck to a powerhead and die.
Maybe it got stressed. It looked normal all day until I found it dead

Sorry to hear that, firefish is a gorgeous fish.

What do you mean, stuck "in" the powerhead? Some fish are too curious for their own good and go poking where they shouldnt.

Most fish end up laid flat against the powerhead grill, that usually indicates it was not strong enough to swim, usually sick or hungry.

I saw it bent in half on the power head I had to unplug the power head to remove it.

Sorry to hear. It's frustrating to lose a new fish. Maybe find a cover for the pump and get a new one. Best wishes.

You're a nc reefer? Yay.

Sorry to hear this. I used to think fish on a power head meant they died and got stuck tonit. I thought this untill I watched my cleaner wrasse swim directly into an mp40. It was gone instantly and a mess. Crabs ate very good that day.
