Hi guys I’m doing a large upgrade from a 50 gallon hang on setup to a 180 gallon reef ready tank. Was wondering what king of filtration I should Run to handle such a large tank! Any and every response will be greatly appreciated!! Thank you :)

Ps. I am Clueless to what is the best bang and the internet has so much information it’s very overwhelming :(

I have watched a bunch of those they’re super helpful! Just really looking for people with experience using what they have and what they would recommend so I have a variety of information. Thanks!

You have many options such as running a sump below. You normally would have a skimmer, heaters, dosers, macroalgae etc located in your sump.

I am moving house and will be doing 120g sump attached to my 180g tank but both will be at the same height. This means no noisy overflow and will give me 10’ of tank real estate to play with. 1’ will be dedicated to equipment.

BRSTV and Melevsreef both offer great advice regarding a sump setup and filtration along with explanations of why.

Congrats. Nice tank to build and maintain. No limits on your initial stocking and scaping plan !!
