Hi all, I have a 60g cube with a pair of clowns, Midas Blenny, and yellow wrasse. I can’t seem to raise my tanks nitrates to over 0 so I’m looking to add some life and bio load to my tank. I was possibly looking to add the following:

1. Few Chromis (do they school well?) or
2. Anthias (I don’t think my tank is big enough for multiple)
3. A basselet ?
4. Fairy or flasher wrasses?

I’m not 100% on anything but I love how the yellow wrasse adds life to the tank by swimming all around. My Midas Blenny is sort of skittish so I don’t want anything to bully it. Any ideas are welcomed and appreciated!

How about a long nosed hawk and a trio of chalk bass?
I am biased with some of the colors of the Chromis, I forgot to mention what about the dottybacks? Too aggressive for the Midas Blenny?

I don't recommend chromis much given the fact that in a 60 gallon cube they will likely pick each other off and many chromis are shipping with disease these days. Anthias need more horizontal swimming space than a cube offers. Smaller basslets would work fairly well as would zebra dartfish.

More I think of it , I probably could do a trio of chalk bass like @nereefpat mentioned. I will see if LFS has in stock. Can I add any other species of wrasse w/ the Yellow Corris Wrasse? It is a juvenile right now.

The problem with wrasses is that all of them except the Possum/Pygmy Wrasses need at least 3-4 feet of horizontal swimming room (depending on the breed). Long term I would say even the Yellow Wrasse will outgrow it. Cube tanks unfortunately severely limit stocking options for fish due to this factor.

i have an orchid with a midas blenny and i've never seen them have any issues. midas was in first. i'd imagine if they did have issues the midas would be able to defend itself

that said, i'd recommend basslets over the dottyback. mine is cool and all, but he rarely ventures away from his little cave area. basslets are kind of scarce too, but you can at least add different ones of those

i have a single lyretail anthias and she's my favorite fish. i think the issue with them is less the swimming space since they just kinda swim in the flow, they don't do laps, but rather if you get a few of them, they need to be able to get away from whoever is dominant. a single fathead sunburst anthias would be cool, my understanding is they prefer the solo life and aren't the most active
