I have a 60 gal. I have about 40lbs of live rock. 2 clownfish, 1 yellow tang, 1 coral beauty, 1 valentini puffer, 1 yellow tail damsel, and 3 green chromis. I recently have lost a sailfin tang a clownfish my anenome, cleaner shrimp and a dottyback, and 2 of my chromis have died. I have tested everything and cannot find a problem. Anybody have ideas?

Welcome to R2R!

I would go first to ammonia. You have checked it and it is 0, correct? Next would be aggression. Seems a awful lot for a 60 gallon, not sure I would add all those fish together in a larger tank. Watch your fish and see how they interact together.

Also you say new fish dying. How old is this tank? Has it successfully cycled? How quickly was all this love stock added?

Ammonia is at 0 none seem aggressive. It sounds like a lot of fish, but I didn't have all those in at once at most I had 8 in there. Then in a two week span I lost a majority of them. I waited a month and just bought 5 green chromis. And within two days two have dies. The tank is probably 3 months old. And the first 4 fish I added are still alive

I have about 10-12 inches of fish in the tank. I was told I can go to about 30 inches as long as I do bi-weekly water changes

I would think you need to double test your ammonia results. Sudden fish loss Is signs of excess ammonia. Also I would test all other parameters and maybe have your lfs double check. Sounds to me you maybe overstocked and overfeeding which will cause issues.

My ph is at 8.4 ammonia is at 0 nitrite is 0 nitrate is around 10 and salinity is 1.023. I feed them once a day. A couple pinches perhaps. Is there a chemical I could put in my tank? And how many fish should I have in the tank?

Even without direct aggression, it could be stress due to overcrowding. The chromis I had were very timid, and you do have some potential bullies.

you probably don't want to hear this but your tank is too small for tang. nems need a mature tank. did any dead fish show signs of ich, rubbing, white spots? angels do better in a mature tank. seems like a lot of stock for such a young tank.

No fish showed any signs. They just went from happy and eating to the next day struggling to live. I have only had at most 10 fish at a time in there. I remember telling the pet store my tank size and asked about the yellow tang and I would be pretty upset if I couldn't get a powder blue
