New fish ideas

I think you’ll be fine. You won’t be anywhere near as overstocked as my tanks anyway! :D

Here they are! Already swimming and eating! Love them already!
I’ll be adding the scissortails to the DT pretty soon and was thinking of getting a rhomboid wrasse as the last addition. Would it be safe to add one with an already established lineatus?

It’s possible but the rhomboid and lineatus are closely related so they may squabble, it’s not an ideal pairing.

That’s why I asked you. I figured you would know better than most. Okay. Well, I’ll keep looking. I’m still considering the flame hawk. Just exploring options since it’ll be the last addition.

How about a McCosker wrasse and a Lineatus. If so I think I’m going to add him and a Midas blenny or flame hawk and be done with stocking the fish. One of the scissortails didn’t make it. The other two are still in qt doing well. That’s why I’m planning to add two more fish instead of one. Then I can start stocking corals :D

That is much more likely to work!

Yay! Thank you! I Had been thinking about either a rhomboid or a pintail. But the McCoskers is very pretty, more likely to get along, and much more budget friendly. Lol. I think he will be a nice addition to the tank ;)

Pintail are very nervous nellies and shy— I love the way they look but mine have always hid almost perpetually. Rhomboid are shy, too but at least you see them :)

In my tank I have boisterous tangs and angels everywhere so it’s not really an environment for docile fish, so your mileage may vary.

Yeah, I’m starting to think I need a bigger tank! As a newbie I had no idea how little 72 gallons are in saltwater terms. Would love to have a big tank full of boisterius tangs, angels, and wrasse. I’m sure your tank is beautiful and full of personality! Hopefully the McCosker can hold his own. I have a blood orang clown who thinks she rules the tank ;Bored. But so far she only chases the male. They have been in the tank since last July and are obviously not the mated pair I was hoping for. As long as he keeps to his side and doesn’t interfere come chow time she leaves him alone tho. Lol
