I have a Yellow Watchmen Goby, a Royal Grama and a couple snails that should show up in the next hour or so...

I'm gonna drip acclimate in a bucket - question:

Is it OK to dump them all into the same bucket during acclimation?

I was worried the fish might fight in the small space/water...

Thanks.

For delivered fish i contact the seller on their systems salinity. Then setup a tank to match that salinity(can be a bucket if have no qt)

I then temp acclimate.

next step requires a syringe, scotch tape and refractometer.

Take a small syringe, test salinity of bag, and adjust intake water as needed. Cover hole with tape.

When match, dump fish in plastic colander, dump in tank.

Warm up in the bags and release each bag into separate buckets and then add a cup of water into each bucket every 15 minutes EIGHT TIMES. Take the cup and scoop the fish - NO NET and pour off waters best as you can and release the fish into display or QT tank.
This will slowly equalize salinity in the shipping bag and that of the tank. This long process will lessen chance of shock AND. . . . .. Release the fish in low light, not bright light as theyre already scared from transit. Slowly ramp up to your normal light schedule as the day progresses.
Now that you have us in suspense.. . . Be sure to post a couple of pics !!

I will likely steal this for myself. Nice system.

I don’t know about the acclamation thing ... but I just got those 2 yellow watchmen goby and a royal gramma , and I love those guys ....

So they are here -
The Goby is REALLY small...and not yellow! Is that normal?

Here is a pic in the bag, afraid once in the tank I'll never find it again...

I've seen yellow watchman gobies being gray, but not white. Usually cases that I hear about them turning grey, it happens later in adulthood. More likely it is white because it is stressed out. Many fish look very different with their stress coloration. It should color up after acclimation. Otherwise, you may just have a different color morph. There is a region in the Indo-Pacific where the yellow watchman gobies are all brown.

Just chatted with the LiveAquaria rep...they said send pictures.

So I got a NON yellow Yellow Goby, a dead Royal Grama, a dead snail and an alive snail...

Not the way I wanted my first ever fish order to go!

WAIT...went to scoop the Grama out and it swam away.

It was just laying still on its side behind the rocks...Guess I'll keep an eye on it.

So, so far just the dead snail - Poor Snail :(

Maybe I should toss a little food in there to stimulate it??? What do you think?

I would let it be, reduce stress.

if have methylene blue i add that if fish look lethargic. Helps with o2, 30 minute bath.

No lights for 24-48 hours lots of hiding places.

Watch out, it’s a zombie!

+1 for stress causing fish to lose color. How sure are you the snail is dead?
