Guys I’ve bought a clown tang and foxface today, my powder blue is kicking **** out them so I sumped him , how long should he be isolated?

Tank size? How long has the powder blue been in there? Any other tank mates?

Tangs are extremely territorial.

1200 x 100 x 90 - 525 ltr

Powderblue has been in 8 years, pair of clarkii clowns, blue spot goby , 3 bangaiis

Two threads with same post. We should delete the other thread.
Your tank in 525 L. I think it is way too small for a Clown tang. I highly recommended that you return him. Keeping him will be a continue headaches for you and dead tank mates for your fish.

A tang that has been established for 8 years owns the tank. Introducing any other tang is going to be an issue, and anybody else that he could possibly see as an annoyance.

Yeah he owns the tank , I’m still wondering if I sumped him for a week if heel have learned his lesson

I would be willing to bet not. You might have luck rearranging scape, but then you're causing all kinds of other unwanted stress and problems.

Well he’s on the naughty step for now , he used to get along with my purple tang till I lost it

Don't know how true it is, but they say if you put a mirror up, they will be more interested in chasing that "other" blue tang than the rest of the fish in the tank.

Some tangs are not so bad, but the powder blue is notoriously mean and territorial

Yep, yep, yep. My rule is one tang per tank (at least in a 90G). I would use that for a 120G as well. As stated, tho, other tangs are on more on the mellow(ish) side. Now, I know that there are others who would disagree so don't take my rules and regs as the end all, be all of aquarium knowledge. It's just what I do.

In my experience its either 1 tang or many tangs (3 or more) (provided the tank is large enough). Unfortunately I don’t think this tank is large enough to support multiple tangs (3+).

Yep. Great idea. Also, just a picture of the same should work too. But a mirror would be a superior modality.

I don't think an 8 year old powder blue will accept another Acanthurus genus tang in a 1000 (mm?, so 4 foot) long tank.

The foxface is worth trying. I don't see the clown and powder getting along.
