I currently have
1 yellow tang (3-4 inches)
2 clownfish
1 diamond goby
1 fish that hides in the rock and I have no clue what he is lol
1 blue damsel that lives in the overflow box for some reason
What. Could I safely add to my tank?

These are terrible pictures but maybe y’all could identify him from the low quality screenshot hard to catch a picture since he only comes out when I feed him

Those are all non-aggressive fish, and your tank looks like a FOWLR setup so far, so the real question is, "what kind of fish do you want to add to your tank?"?

If you're going to add corals, that's when the act of choosing a new fish starts to really get more difficult. Then, it also has to do with the CUC you have in the tank, because some fish eat crabs, snails, clams, etc.

Agree engineer goby.

I would probably suggest a wrasse of some sort like melanarus or yellow coris. They are great pest eaters and fun to watch.

I have two corals In there and just bought like 7 more zoas arriving tomorrow and I have some emerald crabs and snails, but won’t really miss them too much if they get eaten lol

What size is your tank? Do you have a sump? What equipment do you use (i.e. skimmer, algae turf scrubber, refugium, etc.)? To make informed suggestions on additional fish, more information about your setup is needed. Oops, I should have checked your build thread first...

+1 on the juvenile engineer goby (I just got 2 in my quarantine about a week ago). They can grow to 12-13 inches, but it may be more typical to only reach 9-10 inches. I don't have any experience yet, just my own research on the species since I like them so much.

A 125 should have lots of possibilities beyond your initial stocking list, but a lot of it comes down to personal preference. As others mentioned, research the species you want to make sure they will not eat other livestock or be likely to be aggressive. Maybe you should pick some fish you like and ask about them specifically?

Ah yep!! That’s exactly what it is!! Is it true they can get up to 13 inches???
Yes, when mature they look more like and eel than a fish and their pattern completely changes. I have 3 that I only see when they dart out to grab a bite of food.

If you're planning on doing a full reef tank, definitely skip the Angels. My wife wanted an Emperor Angel and (I have hard time telling her "no") I didn't research it first and some of my LPS corals have completely closed up because of the angel nipping at them. I'm going to trade it back to my LFS and get something that is actually reef safe.

So far, I have the same fish as you, with the addition of a blue (hippo) tang, Naso Tang, Midas Blenny, longnose hawkfish and (2) Dotty Backs. As far as crabs go, I have some regular hermits, but the Halloween Hermit is my favorite. The Emerald Crabs are funny too and like to mess with the Diamond Goby by collapsing his tunnel. 20210918_120438.jpg 20210919_131058.jpg
