I just got a regal angelfish from biota after they screwed me over and made me wait 5 more weeks but he is so pretty worth the wait

Hopefully you get an Indian Ocean Regal and not a Grey Belly :)
Here’s my wild caught (misbar) Indian Ocean Regal. They’re worth it as they grow for sure, this girl hasn’t grown at all since getting her in December though.

Awesome it is a yellow belly with a misbar and just so cute
The juveniles of both variants look identical unfortunately, there’s no way to confirm if the CB specimens are actually yellow bellies or the grey bellies until they grow up.

Unfortunately that’s not 100%. The adults they got as breeding pairs were caught from (I believe) the info pacific so whilst they may show the yellow belly gene they may have genes of grey bellies in them and I have seen some CB regals that we’re from the first batch with grey bellies.
Also grey belly regals are only rare because they’re only from one area - The Indo-Pacific (Indonesia). Whilst the yellow bellies are found throughout the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea.

Uh oh guess we will have to see
