I just set up my first reef tank today. I used live rock, live sand and saltwater from my local fish store. When is the right time to start testing water parameters, i.e. salinity, pH, ammonia etc.? Should I wait for it to fully clear?

So the rocks and sand were both wet when installed?

I would test immediately for pH, ammonia, nitrite, (and later nitrate). API makes a saltwater master test kit for this.
