New Fluval Edge 6 gallon tank

Definitely softies, they are great for beginners. And in my opinion......The look the best:)

Awesome. Super beginner here, so trying to learn so much. It's daunting but fun. I don't know much about frags at all, but have time to learn. Super basic question though- the little bases that the frags come on...do those just go right in the tank wherever you place them? They don't have to be removed, right? Will the coral grow over them so you can't see them? Or do you have to hide the bases among the rock/substrate?

Yeah you can place them where ever without having to remove them. They will grow over them. I have frag plugs everywhere in my biocube haha. Some have been covered already by the corals. You can hide the base of them if you would like, but they will cover. Keep in mind that it will take some time though.

Cool- that's what I thought. Just want to keep the tank as aesthetically pleasing as I can during the growing/building, haha!

I know what you mean! Be sure to add pics to the thread as you add to the tank! I'll keep an eye out

Will do, buddy. Thanks for all your advice. Going to try and convince my LFS (who were GREAT in helping me begin) to donate a small, hardy frag to the worthy cause of my First One So May Screw It Up Fund. ;-P

Going very well! We're on day 10. Levels all good. Bringing in a CUC next week per my helpful guy at my LFS.

It's so cool to start to see interesting little growths in the tank that weren't there at the start...

Nice! You should be able to add soon. Any ideas on a fish? Corals?

Yessir! Going to establish some coral pieces first- try my hand at those before adding fish. Super excited!
Corals are alot easier haha. Softies anyway. You gonna do some zoas?

Haha! I like zoas and.......frogspawn!
