I just bought a Forest Fire Monti frag at the LFS 3 days ago and since going into my tank the polyps have not come out so it looks like the attached picture. Parameters are temp: 77.7 F, PH: 8, Nitrate: 2, Phosphate: 0, Salinity 34.2 ppt, Calcium: 430, Magnesium: 1320, Alk: 8.1, Nitrite: 0, Ammonia: 0. Placed the frag near the top of the tank, but am running an acclimation program on my Red Sea ReefLed 50 w, so light is pretty low right now.

Anything to worry about, or too early to get concerned?

Thanks.

Phosphate being 0 isn't good. Nitrates could also go up a little bit. How old is the tank?

3 months at this point, so definitely on the newer side.

New tanks have issues with SPS and anemone. Others more stick friendly can chime in on this.

OK, thanks. I'll just watch it and see what happens. I have a birdsnest frag that seems to be doing well for about 2 weeks now, but I suppose that's a bit more hardy than monti.

This is not a super easy monti. It is not super hard either. I would not chase too much and it is likely that your tank just needs to mature some. When you are growing coralline like crazy, then this one will be pretty easy.
