New Forum i have an idea for

I think there should be a forum for lighting filtration and other reef equipment questions. Also a fish breeding forum! I think these would be great add on!

uhh I dont really see a need for fish breeding forum as that can just be put into the "advanced" forum. There wouldnt be much "traffic" for a breeding forum. However lighting, filtration, and other equipment forum would get alot of traffic.

Well i think alot of people have info on how to breed clowns more then anything. I just think for people looking to do that, it would be nice to have it all in one place with out seaching thru another forum. ALot of other sites get TONS of traffic on there fish breeding forum. Also i know how to breed cardnials and i could share my info with every one, or if any one had a question i could help them out. JMO

Its called new to the hobby. Lighting and basic equipment should be learned before the tank is setup. This helps avoid buying the wrong equipment or cant afford your rock or substrate. Need to have all this in place and ready to go at startup.

not everything that involves lighting and equipment is needed for a new tank. You dont need more than NO t12s for a FOWLR tank. Newbie forum is just that a forum for newbs. there are many "advanced" ?s about lighting and other types of equipment like calcium reactors that would go very well into a lighting/fuge/other equipment type forum.

I also agree that commet is WRONG, what if some one has a ? about upgradeing? What if they need help picking power heads? This forum would be VERY usefull.

might be an up and coming discussion with the mods but for now you can ask questions about lighting and other reef equipment questions on the Hardware & DIY Discussion forum... as we get bigger and bigger, we'll most likely have another thread for reef equipments..

I would totally be up for the fish breeding forum, would be more than happy to share the information I have on breeding maroon clowns and would love to learn more on breeding banggai cardinals.

yea i think a lighting and other equip would be good i mean you can start a tank with any lights but there are so many different ways to light and filter it's good to see pros and cons through a forum to know what to change to

I honestly like R2R the best out of all the sites, very friendly people on here. I think the Equipment/Lighting/DIY would be a good section. Breeding could be cool, possibly could fall under Advanced but theres alot of people who are interested in clowns who it could benefit.

If you dont understand about lighting before your buy then you might buy a 300 dollar light that you wont be satisfied with or if you add powerheads that dont meet your basic requirments then your water quality will suffer. Before i started my tank i made a ist and researched all items then visited LFS and talked with other reefers and then bought 2 books on salt water aquariums and then i proceeded. I had very little trouble and a happy healthy tank with no added chemicals or reactors.

Though i would agree with "what if you want to upgrade". Lighting and other equipment can be confuseing so this would be good. Oh and ocean , killingseed my little brother says Yeaa Haa.

i like the idea of a lighting forum, thats one thing that most forums lack and when they do have a section for "lighting" its usually lumped in with other hardware stuff
i guess with the better search engine it wont be so bad now seeing that we can search for mh or t5 now
i think subforums would be good too though like t5s, mh, vhos, pcs, leds
sure some of the older lighting may not get as many hits but i think its still helpful
like t5 bulb combination, everyone asks that when they start getting into t5s, EVERYONE

thats very very true. every time some one starts they def ask. Also people like to see what others are using as in color combos and growths rates. I think seeing as lighting is one of the most important aspects in the reef hobby it should def have its own forum

I would really like information about maroon clown breeding and also about their over all behavior from other reefers.
