Heres a frag I pickup yesterday. Was open a considerable bit more before I got it, but has been opening up pretty well in the past 24 hrs. I havnt been able to find much info about this one as I dont know what its called. Was just labled as small frag at my lfs and the clerk didnt know other than it being a softie. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Definitely looks like goniopora to me but if it doesn't have a skeleton (if it's completely soft)in the base, it could be a type of Xenia?

It has a hard base that these individual tenticle/polpys come out of. And i thought maybe xenia but all the xenias i can find tend to have a leaf like look and these look mini frogspawn on each piece.

If it has a hard base it's not xenia and probably a gonipora. I'm still laying in bed without my glasses so I'll let the more awake, visually gifted people take over lol

If it has a hard base its %100 a goniopora. It's a somewhat hard coral to keep, prefers medium flow and medium light, good water quality and will do best when fed multiple times per week.

Ive been reading on it since the first post saying it was a goniopora. Looks like it may be the goniopora lobata from pictures im seeing. Seems like its the easier of the "hardest" lps coral to keep. Will be picking up some zooplankton today for it. Any recommendations for a beginner reefer willing to accept this challenge set before me?

They are definitely a challenge, I can keep everything under the sun but could never get a Goni to do good in my systems
