New Frags - Move them or Leave them be?

I've been adding some of my first SPS frags to the tank. I've done all my research and I think everything is OK for them to do well in the long run, however learning as we go is part of the fun, right? Anyways, some are turning quite brown and others are getting pretty pale. I've seen some threads taking both positions but I wanted to see if anyone could provide some detailed experiences supporting why they do what they do.

So, when adding a new frag and seeing it brown out or get pale in the oncoming weeks, do you move them to a new spot or leave them where they are and just let them adjust?

At the risk of breaking rules, bump for some night folk. Looking to see the general consensus on this if it exists.

Personally I would move them around once and see how they do if it's easy to accomplish. How are they mounted? On a frag rack or glued? Some sps get mad with too much light or not enough. If you have given them some time to acclimate and they are showing signs of paling/darkening, I would move them once dependent on light and leave them alone to see how they respond. I'm sure others will say the opposite though. Lol

Sps or not, I am typically always telling people to let corals settle. The more you move, the more you stress. I would say since you’re starting off with sps to start them off on the sand or frag rack low in the display. However being brown and or pale can be completely different things. I would recommend posting a lot more information.

Tank, lighting, all parameters, and even pictures.

Definitely appreciate the feedback. I'm looking moreso for what others do in general in their own situation. But perhaps others don't get pale or brown corals so maybe I'm off base. Lol.

Lol. And just when I figure something out for sure, someone always comes along and tells me otherwise.

If they are browning out, I normally leave them (happens a lot with new SPS as they adjust). Turning pale, for me, is usually a sign of bad things to come so I usually move it lower in the tank.

Good info, thanks. I figured people would treat both browning and pale the same. Learned something new.
