These are my new “mini corals” for $540 bucks
Just wanted to post
Because I’m still confused on what the heck happened !!!

they look “cooked” which could have been due to high temperatures during shipping or “bleached/browned” which would be due to too much light for bleached or not the required nutrients/parameters for corals turning brown...

Yup
I got a bad bad bad deal !! I hope the seller sees this I don’t want to name names yet !! But for $540 !! And said they are mini colonies !! What the heck, wrong box ? Yes those are out of the bags in the water they came in,picked them as soon as they came in !! 1 1/4 is longest pice ! And bleached out in the bag

Looks like shipping stress from so-so conditions beforehand. We will all need more info to try and help figure out what *might* have happened.

The top two on the left look like they are losing tissue already.

I sent the seller the same picture same day as received, I said what great”mini colonies and color” he replied back thx !!! Clue less
It's possible English is not the seller's first language and often sarcasm can be lost. I would be very specific in describing the issue and what you want done to resolve it.

Did you tell them that you are upset and would like some sort of reparations in a direct manner? I am pretty honest and take care of people, but I do not handle passive aggressive very well. They might turn out to be dooches, but be direct and see if they respond.

Not sure if the seller is new ?
No heat pack
A ice pack is what was needed not heat it's plenty hot enough out side sorry this happened to you if the seller isn't willing to honor any doa make sure to leave feedback in the seller/trader feedback to prevent this from happening to another reefer

Just curious... how do they look under blue light?
I can see some faint color in the pic which was taken under warm light and makes most coral look brown. They haven't rtn'd, tissue is still in place, just loss of color from stress.
And size looks normal, if not pretty good, for frags these days. Were you unaware of the size when purchasing?
I hope it works out, either they recover or you work something out with the seller.

I don't think there's anywhere in the country right now that I'd use a heat pack just yet.
He has to see all of this posts, he’s a active seller
Not necessarily. A lot of sellers I see in the non vendor livestock forum never go anywhere but the livestock selling forum.

Yup

That's about the size you'll get from most. And it sucks. It's actually why I started my business. I got tired of buying tiny nubs of named sps online. I prefer to sell nicely sized frags. 1.5"-3" and chunky. Not tiny 3/4"-1" single branch nubs. If I do have a 1"-1.25" frag it will still be chunky with multi branch.

(Rare exception being high end stuff like Walt Disney, etc)

What do the frags look like under tank lights? Under regular light all acros look brown and dull. Did you remove them from the plugs? At $540, are these higher end named sps? Can you name the frags you bought?

They all look ok to me. Color should come back. For 540 I wouldn't be too happy either unless a couple of those are top of the notch SPS. Did you get any names with them?
