Well what do we think? Just a higher alk version, or something more?

Or the boxing company ran out of blue cardboard :p I just got my dosing dialed in to lol.

Looks like they upped the alkalinity to 10-12 dkh. So now I'm thinking if I mix one part blue box with one part red box I will be in the sweet spot! Lol

They are leaving the blue box the same as it's been.

Just got a new box of this today. Alk tested 8.9 dkh, calcium 440, magnesium 1360. Not sure why it fell a little lower than the stated parameters, but so did the blue box salt regularly. May have to do with how I'm mixing it over many hours? Actually it's what I was hoping for, since the blue box usually tested around 7.5dkh for me.

I'm doing AWC at 3.5 gallons per day, so running salt with alk a little high for my system should work out just fine. Might even save me a little in 2 part! Here's the parameters Fritz has listed for their red box salt...

and a price increase

I noticed that a few places. That's kinda shady, as premium aquatics has it listed at the same price as blue box. Not sure if that's coming from Fritz and premium is eating it, or if other suppliers are just jacking it up because they feel they can?

Also why I don't purchase the 4 seperate bags in a box. Sure it would be nice to drop a whole bag in my 50 gallon containers and be good to go, but the $11 price increase is a little hard to swallow. I know there is more cost involved, but that's nearly 20% increase for 4 bags instead of 1?

Ok, I just checked back at saltwateraquarium.com where I've bought it before and earlier this week it was like $68-$69.
Now it's $64.
Close to what the blue box was.
