Weel, my first saltwater tank will be here in a few days and I am stupid excited. I have been waiting on this day for awhile. I have had freshwater tanks for around 20 years ( long term tank dabbler). About 2 years ago I decide to get serious and went full out on a 75 gallon freshwater community tank ( Check album for details). I quickly found myself looking to expand once I got my 75 to where I wanted it, and since I don't want to break it down and redo it quite yet I said, hey it seemed like a good time to finally make the leap into the salt water world and I feel I am in a good place right now to take on the responsibility of caring for my little salty friends lol

Enough of that now on to the goods....

GlassManBo's 17 Gal TopShelf Micro
17 gal Mr Aqua rimless drilled
20 gal sump
Neptune Apex - w/ breakout
ReefLink
Ecotech XR15w
Reef Octupus 110
Waveline 6000 DC pump
200w Heater
RO/DI system with ATO

THINGS I WANT TO ADD SOON
MP10w
Kalk reactor
Refugium

If you have any advise or questions about the equipment list chime in please I am a newbie to what I need and what things cancel each other out, like my big one now is do I need Apex and Reef Link or will Apex Fusion now control the Ecotech lights and powerheads, in which case I wouldn't need the ReefLink.....

Welcome! Looks like a great list of equipment your doing it right the first time around! Feel free to start up a build thread in the members aquarium section. We love to see pics

Welcome to R2R! Looks like a good starting list of equipment. Need a apex? No. But they are nice and can control all the vortech equipment, just need the modules.

Welcome neighbor! If you purchase the WXM module for the Apex you can control your Radion and MP10wes pumps without Reeflink. I purchased both (Apex and Reeflink), but ended up going with the Apex with WXM. I a very pleased with the complete control I have and need to sell my Reeflink.

welcome to the forum! sounds like a nice plan for the new tank! be careful though, saltwater can become quite addicting :)

Thanks everybody for the super warm welcome. Definitely excited as the day draws near, I stopped by the LFS this weekend and got all the details worked out, going to pick out my coral this Saturday and the owner is coming by next Wednesday to install everything, normally I am a hands on freak but the Black Friday deal was FREE install and install supplies so hey i'll let him plumb everything in for free and maybe make friends with my LFS owner :)

And thanks for the input on the Apex WXM/Reeflink I finally got my head wrapped around that one lol. I went ahead and ordered the Apex, I already had the Reeflink, So gonna run them together and maybe down the road pick up a WXM and see which I prefer and sell the latter of the 2.

Lastly the build thread will be started up this week, I have a couple DIY projects I have to get done before the tank gets here and I am starting to get items in the mail so I have a few things I can post up....
