Been posting on here for a few months but never had an intro. I have a 55 gallon mixed reef with a Rapid Led DIY fixture, been up and running for about a year and a half and is always improving. I haven't met many other reefers in the area so if your near Hagerstown give me a shout! I'm always interested in buying and trading frags and equipment.

SW Baltimore county here. There's been a bunch of MD reefers coming out of the woodwork lately

All over the place for me. LFS's in northern Va, a trip to That Fish Place once in awhile, local hobbyists, online, you name it.

I've been to that fish place, I wasn't too impressed with the selection or prices when I was there. I get most of my frags from Pacific East Aquaculture, same day shipping is $16.

Didn't used to buy from Rick's but he's ramping up a couple of little frag tanks that I love now. Otherwise everyplace is too expensive for the good stuff or has nothing cool. Interested in doing some business with 'local' hobbyists if anyone has something nice to frag.

I just unloaded about half of my corals last month to make room for SPS. I never used to buy from Ricks either but he's the only place around with a good selection and actually keeps them healthy. Only frags I have are ponape birdsnest and Hollywood stunner

Rick is getting a lot more and better SPS now that he ever did, which is why I'm going there. But he hasn't really committed his frag tanks to long term maintenance of the more demanding corals it doesn't seem. In other words, sometimes if you want a nice acro frag from him you need to get it shortly after he receives it for it to be in the best health.

Greetings from Howard county.

Mr Coral ships out of Frederick, so if you order from him you can do a local pickup there and skip the shipping - just a heads up

That's what I've found the times I've been in there. I'll have to swing by sometime to see what he has going now.

I used to go to his retail shop before I was into sps, and have been tempted by his prices now, but have heard such bad things about the survival rate of his frags presumably because he doesn't let them recover from fragging before shipping out. I have wondered if avoiding the shipping by direct pick up would help with that. Have you tried it?

No I haven't. Just upgraded to LED, so while I am excited and ready for new corals my wallet wants me to wait :/

That being said, I'll probably do something in late November and if I can remember ill report back

As far as I know, the retail shop is closed. Mail order only. I reached out to them about a month ago, and they will do discounts on local shipping. $10 or $15 I believe.
