Hey all, new to the forum here. I have been into reef keeping since around 2001. I'm retired Army Infantry and my reef tank is kind of my PTSD therapy. My current system is a 125g mixed reef ready tank with two 250w 20k DE metal halides on Lumentek 250/400w ballasts, four 48" T5's staggered with two actinics and two 10k (soon to be replaced with blue+ or purple+) HO's and DA lunar lights, Eshoppe S-150 cone skimmer, GFO reactor, UV sterilizer, a basket of chaeto in the sump, a five gallon kalk drip, two Koralia 1050's and a Koralia 1400, all ran by a Reefkeeper Lite and a custom made switch board.

My tank has been running for about 1.5 years with some ups and downs. Most everything is DIY like my sump, top off, stand, canopy, and my water storage containers are plumbed directly from a separate room down a wall straight to my sump and has an auto shutoff on a Spectrapure maxcap 90gpd RODI.

I have been on a few other forums but some are slow moving and others seem to not be interested in helping others with questions. I'm looking for a good and friendly forum to be a member of.

Here is my aquarium as of now. I keep the salinity at 1.025, ph at 8.1 or so, calcium 420, and alk at 9dkh, and mag at 1440

Thanks. I joined a while back but just never got around to posting.

SeahorseKeeper, thanks for the complement. I have changed a few things in it lately. I added a purple monti cap and a red planet acro and a couple acans and a new clam but I really like how the sailfin tang looks in that photo.

Wow what a beaut!

Thanks. I've enjoyed the emails with the articles in them that I have received from here for some time now. Very good info in them.

Thanks. I have been thinking of going to a white substrate but I like the mixed ok.

Thanks on the clam. I have a derasa in there with it now.
