Hello forum! My name is Jay and I am out of the Providence/Boston area of New England. I'm new to salt water tanks but used to keep fresh water for some time. With a recent move, my wife and I decided to add new color to our place so we landed on switching from fresh to salt water. Now, I've been reading for what seems like eternity but I know I'll have a slew of questions as time goes by that I haven't asked in the other part of the forum dedicated for stuff like that. But, essentially, I'm in the planning game of it right now. I think a 75G + sump/refugium will be a good size for us to begin with. We also want to do a FOWLR but eventually go coral. My goal is have the tank coral-ready in the sense that if I wanted to drop the coral in in a few months [willing the water perimeters and such were good obviously], I'd have all the proper equipment [minus a few added reactors] already installed and working on my current setup with some added tweaks.

Now, I'm new to plumbing as my fresh tank had rear hang-ons. I'm looking at some equipment and below is a list of stuff I think I'm going to go with. If you had bad experience or think I should change something, please let me know.

In/on tank:
-I want to go LED, just deciding between brands. The ECOTECH Radions caught my eye
-Live rock
-Live sand for substrate [undecided on the type as of yet]
-2x VorTech MP40's [is that enough flow for a 75 gallon in a typical layout?]

Under tank:
-NEPTUNE Apex
-Dual deluxe BRS carbon/GFO reactors
-Miracle Mud for the refugium
[No idea what brand/style/size sump+refugium to go with, though]

I know I'm missing a LOT more. This is basically where I ask for suggestions maybe if I need more pumps, different controllers, what are good modules to have, etc. I appreciate all of you helping me out in advance!

Welcome to Reef2Reef, I am from North Attleboro, MA. I am also pretty new to the hobby, but I do have some experience in plumbing and what not if you have any questions. As far as your rock, I recommend Pukani dry rock from Bulk Reef Supply, its very nice looking, you can make great aquaecapes with it, and you get ALOT of rock for your money, I have just shy of 40 lbs in my 75 gallon reef and you can see how much of my tank that filled up if you look at my thread. Have fun!
