New from Winchester, Virginia

I'll throw my 2cents in for Reef eScape in Fairfax. I've been buying fish from them for years without any problems. They're more expensive for livestock, but they actually QT (and their QT tanks are in the shop so customers can see, not hidden off in some back room) and try really hard to make sure what they're selling you is in good health, plus they're in the middle of an expansion buildout to give them an even better coral setup and more QT space. Blue Ribbon Koi is also nice, but they're upfront about the fact that they don't QT, so props to them for that, but make sure you do your own QT on livestock and coral from them. Supreme Reefs (which I think used to be Quantum Reefs) is also very nice and very helpful for coral in the Fairfax area. Look for the mandarin's they keep in the incoming coral tanks for pest control, they're chonky and pretty as hell.

Hi! I purchased my first tank off Facebook Marketplace, and now I'm hooked. I've been lurking on the forums, but decided to sign up.
Currently have a 32g bio cube with a fire shrimp, some hermit crabs, a tobacco basslet, and some rock flower nems.
Anyone have any reccomendations on LFS to take a day trip too? I've been to fairfax and checked out some stores there, but would love to go visit others!
Anyways, about me- 39 year old female with 2 girls, a sheepadoodle, and an awesome husband who told me I needed a hobby, so here we are lol
The one that's the closest besides Winchester aqarium is in Strasburg called the coral dragon. I'm in Inwood literally right beside you,man do I miss the 90s we had em everywhere, hell I grew up in Fins, Feathers and Friends. All the suggestions are good blue ribbon gets some some really nice clams. I quit all the road trips myself atleast until Biden falls down or up a huge flight of stairs and I can afford to again

Hi @Breezie! Your title caught my attention. I live in NE PA, but bought my 270 from a guy in Winchester. I grabbed my eldest son and pulled a UHaul trailer about 450 miles to bring it home. From what I saw, WInchester is really pretty!

Hello and welcome to R2R!! :)

Welcome fellow Virginian!! Check out Tiki Corals in Richmond if you ever feel up to the trip!

Reef Escape in Fairfax. Great, super helpful and knowledgeable, friendly, clean, professional, and cheaper then BRS / Internet for most dry goods and equipment. Serious fish quarantine.

Pacific East Aquaculture is a great day trip (Saturday only) down near Salisbury, Maryland for extensive coral selection.

Tropical Lagoon in Silver Spring, MD. Enter the single storefront hole in the wall door and then down the stairs into a fun, underground, humid, dungeon with some good finds, prices and treasures.

Supreme Reefs in Burke.

Welcome to the salty side and the community! I look forward to seeing pics of your tank. :-)
