Hi Reefwiser, hope you are doing great. I am having a strange issue with the GHL Connect app. Although when I am at my place the app works fine, when I am away I keep getting the message that it cannot connect to my P4. I am using the latest non Beta firmware on the P4 and v6565 for the wifi module.

Also, myghl works flawlessly. Any ideas?

The app is setup to work only in your local network. There is a workaround to get the app to access your p4 from away using port forwarding on your router, but myGHL really serves that purpose.

Thanks. That’s too bad but at least with tour answer I will not start chasing my tail wondering what could be wrong with my setup. Hopefully for a future app update?

There is a way to set it up to access outside your local network. But I don't do that because I am always around my tank.

I typically have about 700km between me and my tank [emoji16]. But not going to get into all that port forwarding stuff.

The thing is,... it doesn’t. At least not for me. The myGHL service is SOOO slooooooow. Everything has a huge delay whereas the app works much quicker.

I have very fast internet speeds of 120Mb/s (which even over WiFi gets me 50Mb/s plus) and I regularly stream full HD content with zero issues in my place.

But myGHL connection is sketchy, disconnects every now and than and not really something I can use.

That is an internet issue mostly a dns issue from what I have experienced. Speed has nothing to do with it. [emoji3]
Just upgraded my WiFi router to a AMPLIFI unit and it does a great job

I use the app to access from outside home network, but mine is a P3.

The default port is 10001

You would need a dynamic dns service or a static ip address.

After that, You would need to forward the 10001 port in your router to your Profilux.

Just checked for P4 the port is 80.
This can be a problem if forwarded in your router to Profilux, as this is the internet traffic port.

In the host or IP address, you need to enter your dydns address. For e.g.

Where @ddns.net is yiur dynamic dns provider.
I use no-ip.

I do not know if you change the default port to something else, if it would work. But I do know that changing the default port makes the app useless from outside home network in P3
