New grafted zoa

Found this colony in my tank that has apparently taken a graft.

They originally were eagle eyes that have now adopted some type of green around the mouth.

This is a common occurrence that is known as GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) Infection originally reported by ORA on some of their grown acropora.
Sometimes it stays and sometimes the zoa will be back with normal coloration

Yea I’m a big fan of grafted montis. This appears to be propogating to new heads as I have many expressing it.

I'm not convinced this is a graft. More of a mutation or morph. It could be what @GoldenBasketReef mentioned.

It’s not a graft by definition. As Rudy pointed out this is a common occurrence, it’s not unusual for watermelon zoas to do this and then lose the color as the polyp matures. Zoas do morph, but that would be contingent on the new polyps retaining that trait and passing it on to future polyps.

It’s definitely GFP, and appears to be present in new growth.

I had some eagle eyes that did that way back when, ended up reverting back to regular coloration. But maybe yours won't. Try to separate that polyp from the colony on its own plug.

I’ve got a set of something morphed (no positive ID, they don’t match anything but are close to multiple things) that have this trait and it’s never gone away. From a few months ago. Most have green mouths now.
