New green carpet anemone *worried*

So I just purchased a new green carpet anenome, and it is about 8” diameter maybe more, I saw it and I couldn’t resist. My local lfs said my clowns would love it but I’m having second thoughts, at the moment it is in a 55 gallon tank (20 galling fuge aswell) and the tank is stocked with a pair of normal clowns and a small foxface. Should I be worried about anything being eaten, is there any precautions I can make??

I have a green carpet nem. It has eaten several fish. My clowns won't go near it. I read (somewhere, sometime) that even clowns can be eaten by carpets. I'm not 100% on that though. But my clowns haven't ever looked at it.

Probs better asked in the "Anemone and Clownfish" section, but yeah I've heard and seen mixed things about carpets.

I have terrible luck with nems, but I've seen as many carpets kill and eat fish as I've seen carpets hosting fish like clowns. My clowns preferred my hairy mushrooms over the BTA as well, and condylactis supposedly doesn't host anything but I had a pair of demon spawn clarkis very happy in them and eager to bite me.

I'm not too sure whats considered safe but I'm under the impression anything not strong enough or healthy enough to swim away from its grip is pretty much a goner.

I ended up turning my carpet nem to the LFS. Mine was 5 inches and I had one big watchmen get too close for comfort and was like nope and got rid of it. I couldnt resist either, they are pretty. The only clowns that I know of that host these in the wild are very large clarkiis, carpet nems almost always end up eating the clowns, which they probably know and thats why they wont go near it
