New growth on glass

Something new everyday! lol
This showed up today on the glass.
Nothing new in the tank.
Salinity shot up to 1.028 (was 1.025 previously)

Fed my lonely fish some flakes last night. Scrubbed algae from the rocks with hand.
I wonder if it is new algae growth.

Looks like copepods and/or amphipods - a good sign for sure!

How old is your tank? Did you start with live rock and sand, or dry? How did you cycle it?

sorry but I disagree, not pods... they appear to be anchored to the glass. possibly hydroids or something else... begining of some type of algae?

Looks like algae spores but if moving, then pods but these appear to be stationary. If so, simply wipe with sponge

Am I the only one seeing them move around in the video? Maybe it's the flow in the OP's tank? Maybe it's the sun from three days of pressure walking our deck??

They are moving, but only because of the flow. They are anchored to the glass at the bottom of each "line", and unattached everywhere else, making them able to move in the flow. I can see how they'd look like pods. Pressure washing your deck for 3 days?!? How big is the deck?

This deck is only about 15'x15', but there's a lot to be repaired, and a lot of stairs; it's been a bigger job than I planned on already, and it's freaking hot out lol!

Thanks all for replying. Got a used tank, 10 days ago. Tank had been established a year ago by previous owner. Few corals and 1 fish. Have lot of algae on the rocks. Cleaned some algae off the rocks yesterday, so I guess its new spores of the algae attached to the glass. I wonder why people recommend scrubbing if it ends up in explosive new growth.

I actually did not scrub. I pinched/pulled the algae and took it out of the tank, for the same reason thinking it will release the spores.

They are fixed to the glass. Movement is due to water flow
