So, I have this frag...

Ashamed to say that I don't know what it is. I liked it in the frag tank at the LFS and purchased it. I have two questions...

1. Can someone please ID the frag?

2. About 1/3 down on the right, there a section that is white. Also some of the tips. Just noticed this and was wondering if it is new growth or bleaching? I never noticed it before and am thinking new growth. Opinions?

The algae growing on the tips tells me its dying and the algae is consuming the rotting pieces. Looks to be either STN ot RTN. What are your water paraneters? What lighting do you have it under?

I changed my light. It was a 96 watt 4 lamp T5; 2 white, 1 blue, 1 pink. Now it is an Orbit Marine LED at 100%.

I'm going to back off to 60% for 10 days, then increase.

Best bet would also be to cut off the dead pieces.

Does bleaching = dead?

I just backed off on my light to 60%. I'd like to see if it bounces back. In your experience, does that happen?

And I'd like an ID on the frag, not a diagnosis of the condition please.

Bleaching means it has exspelled its dinoflagellet algae. In the wild they can recover it. And in tanks too.
