hello, I noticed a new growth from one of my live rocks. Anyone know what it is? Small light in color almost see through.

looks like an aiptasia anemone... most people don't want those in their tanks, they're considered pests.
Thank you for the response! Any idea how to remove it?

A lot of ppl will tell u a lot of things I got one of some live rock just got steaming hot water in a turkey baster and hosed him down when he was opened up n poof gone

Yeah, if you do the hot water make sure its R/O water or dechlorinated tap or something... A lot of people use lemon juice in a syringe with a needle, but they sell chemicals also like aiptasia x by red sea... Or get some peppermint shrimp... its all up to you.. the shrimp only eat small ones though.

Thank you! I really appreciate the info

I just keep a peppermint shrimp in my tank so that I don't have to worry about them, they're a pretty addition to any tank.

:D

I take the rock out and just put a dab of superglue on it. Then it's intombed. Good night. Hehe

Good to know! I hit them with some boiling water and it slumped over

Peppermint shrimp worked for me. I have heard however that some like them more than others. I bought three and within a couple of days the 30 or 40 aiptasia i had spotted in my refug are gone.
