Slow and steady wins the race!
It's all a matter of personal preference.. You can't beat glass for clarity and scratch resistance but acrylic is lighter, stronger and helps keep temps stable because it's a better insulator however it scratches very easy and can be damaged even with simple tank maintenance like cleaning algae with a magnetic scraper

Everything is true in the above for sure! I have had a glass aquarium crack and leak on me, everything was lost. But for some reason my current tank is still glass. You could say I like glass over acrylic, I think the main thing for me is the clarity.
