Im pumped about this new endeavour and completely committed to not failing!
Anyhow, i have no local friend that are into the hobby so Im sharing my updatea here ......
RO/DI is installed in my laundry closet. Works great.
I just ordered my test kits
The pukani dry rock is curing in the garage (im doing two weeks in a water/bleach solution with a complete water change halfway through. Then a thorough rinsing and cycling in the DT. I was inspired by BRStv's experiment). Currently I'm on week #2 of curing and looking forward to the cycling.
The rock has been predrilled and a combo of acrylic rods with jb weld epoxy will be used to hold the rock together.
I can't believe how much I've been binging on youtube reef videos from some of my favorite reefing YouTubers.
Im considering a Radion xr15w G4 pro.
Originally i was going to go with Kessil A360we but if i decide to eventually add a few SPS down the road, i was told that Radion would probably be a better option.
Tunze ATO will be ordered soon.
Feel free to shoot any advise my way.
Im a bit nervous about all this but find myself getting more confident that I will pull this off.
Oh yeah!....I ran into a very nice lady online that has been awesome with taking time to give me advice. She runs the REEFFARM coral supply in Raleigh NC. Im looking forward to meeting her in person.
Whelp, I'm done rambling.

I think it will be amazing. We use to live in Greenville before we moved back to Kansas, your lucky, you have a much better selection of lfs's. I never seen mention of the tank size your running with? Yes, I would make it a point to meet that lady!

You came to a great place, these people are more than willing to help, all you have to do is ask.

Where in NC are you? Im outside of Raleigh. Oh, Grace from Reef Farm is awesome. Love her.

She defintely seems awesome, thats great to hear. I'm in Sanford. About 30ish minutes south of Raleigh

Welcome to R2R!

If you’re ever near Greensboro, swing by Triad Reef Critters. I’ve been dealing with them for the past 4 years. Good people there.

Thanks for the tip.

@Jobet, what size tank are you running? Also, FYI the Radion XR15 and XR30 Pro lights are beautiful, but more often than not are overkill for what people really need. Ecotech Marine bought AI a few years ago and so it's kind of become the cheaper alternative for those who want Ecotech Marine products at a lower pricetag. The counterpart to the Radion XR15 (not the Pro model) is the AI Hydra 26HD which comes with the wireless controller built in. I run a pair of them on a rail mount over my 90 gallon (as seen in my avatar).

Good info, thanks! I purchased a used jbj nanocube 28 but am on the fence about whether or not to purchase a new tank because i cant seem to get rid of a layer of mineral buildup (Ive tried vinegar and razor blades). I also noticed a decent sized scratch on the side of the tank that i didnt notice when purchasing it. Part of me wants to just keep it, so that i can go ahead and get started. Honestly, i like the size. Im not interest in a smaller nano tank.
I was told that if i want to start adding SPS at the point, then i should consider the radions. So that's where im at. I just want to get the best i can afford now, to avoid a necessary upgrade later.
For now though, im all about EUPHYLIA LPS, atleast for my first few corals.
Thanks again for the info
