Hello all,

I'm relatively green, unlike my tank :tongue:, when it comes to saltwater tanks. The tank has been running since the end of November. I have a 75g tank with a 20g sump with a reef octopus protein skimmer (rated to 200g). I'm running a 48" t5 lighting system with a cheap led light behind it (came with tank). Lighting is my weak point right now. I have about 80 lbs of live rock.

Fish:
-Flame Angel
-Mandarin Dragonet Goby
-Sailfin Tang
-Sand Sifting Goby
-3 Emerald Crabs
-Bunch of snails
-Melanurus Wrasse
-2 Clowns

Anemone:
-Bubble Tip

Corals:
-Green star polyp
-Hammer
-Few acans
-Zoa's
-Chalice
-Bubble
-Bunch of ones I'm not sure what they are


I'll post pics later. I'll eventually be researching DIY lighting.

I found the model, its a Reef Octopus Classic 160INT protein skimmer. We're also running 2 1150gph hydor circulation pumps. Between those and the sump pumping water back in, were just over 33 times the tanks size for circulation.

Thanks for the welcome. Is there a section for posting "What is this?" Type threads?


We bought some live rock and this thing was on it. I've had various stores say different things. Can anyone tell me what it is?? The picture is from when we first got it.

Then if you know what it is, can you explain what it's doing below? I noticed today it was ballooning out....

*Welcome to Reef2Reef, shizzle24 !* It looks like you have a rock anemone.It may be expelling waste products when it balloons out like that.If you feed it some frozen food it may close up like a pouch as it eats.
