New guy on day 6 now

Just did another test on my water and was wanting to see what everyone thought so far
The ph 8.2, up .2 from 3 days ago
The ammonia is .50, same from 3 days ago
Nitrite is .25, up .25 from 3 days ago
Nitrate is 0, same as 3 days ago
Salt is 1.024, up .0015 from 3 days ago
What does everyone think so Fay I know its really eairly still but I like to do things right the first time if possible

Nothing just letting it do it on its own for now, I didnt want to keep adding chemicals, just put dry rock and then 1 big purple rock and live sand

I like not adding chemicals too. Makes everything too complicated. But, sometimes they can be useful.

Not useing anything for a source of ammonia, ecerything I have read say that it will do it on its own if left alone to do so it just takes alot longer to do so and I'm not in any hurry, just takeing my time

You’ll need ammonia and nitrifying bacteria to start a cycle. Google Dr Tims bacteria and ammonia. Prob the easiest way to get a cycle going.

If you're going to keep coral you can eventually bump the salt up to 1.026.

Under normal conditions pH isn't much of a panic as long as it's not dropping too much don't worry about chasing it. It is good to be aware of it though.

If these guys want an ammonia source maybe you could toss in some flakes or pellets just for fun. Not my department, I've always done it like you are doing in the past. Flakes and 30 days.
Recently I've used that instant bacteria they have on the market now, but that's only because I had livestock that I wanted to move to a that system.
