Hello everyone. Beginner level saltwater aquarium hobbyist. This will be my second saltwater tank in about 2 years. My first tank was a 20 gallon box tank very simple. Live rock couple damsels a goby. But I really enjoyed it. We just moved back to Tennessee and I've decided to give it another go and I would like to take it a step further this time so I'm gonna do some reading and try to participate on this forum and learn all I can. This go round I have a 42 Gallon oceanic hexagon tank with oak stand. Cf300 3 stage canister filter. 0ctopus 100 protein filter, 150 heater, thermometer, Some live rock. I have a ballast for a t5 light but need a bulb. My tank has been cycling for about 3 weeks and I plan on getting a light before any additions such as soft corals or fish. Also u have to replace the lid on the tank as when I got It i found it broken. Anybody wanna run me down a basic checklist so i can have optimal tank performance. I hope to be able to grow some hard corals and have a few nice fish in there comparable with reef tank. Any and all help much appreciated.

Welcome home, you will love it here!

You're smart to follow the golden advice "nothing good happens quickly in this hobby".

Post pics of the tank!

I'll take a couple pictures for you guys tomorrow. It's nothing special right now. Being patient with it.

One question guys. Why can I not interact through the app. I have to go to the web page in order to reply or like a comment.

Welcome! But don't put damsels in their very aggressive try blue anthias their like $3.99 each I'll buy 6 at once then 2 make it lol.
