Ok everyone so I'm getting together my components that I need need before i start adding all the goodies. I however needs y'all's advice, again it's a 55gal tank. But I've seen that I can either go sump or canister filter. What do y'all recommend? I really don't mind either I have time to clean and all that. I just want something to help with my ptsd and I here this can help me.

Go with a sump for sure. I don't think conister filters are really that well designed for saltwater use. I do love them for Freshwater though.
