hey everyone!
just found out about this place, looks good! little background, i have a 55g display with a 30g sump and 30g fuge. i went with a zoa dominated tank and all the ones i got seem to be kicking a**! i have some Armor of God's that have more than doubled their polyps in about 1 month (thereabouts). changed the lighting to a 14k look, and the colors on my zoo's really stand out now, awesome corals. just thought i'd introduce myself.

I'll try a tank shot. for some reason my camera really sux at taking pics of my tank(could be the operator). I'll try and take some tonight and post them. i got some new zoo's(had them for less than 2 weeks) that are already growing and i don't have pics of them yet. thanks for the welcome guys!

alright, does anyone who lives near south Wisconsin want to come over and teach me how to use my %&#@ing camera? i'm usually pretty good with this kind of stuff, but i have no idea what i'm doing wrong. should have bought a cannon. i got some crappy pics, but photobucket.com isn't working. is there any other free photo album sites?

Welcome!

What kind of camera do you have? A few tips...wait till it's dark outside, turn off the flash, and turn on the macro mode (usually a little tulip). Once you're in the macro mode get as close to the object as you can but don't use the zoom feature, it tends to degrade picture quality. Hope this helps!

welcome....yes thank shop please....
wow your zoa is wonderfull marvin

Welcome and great to have you!

Also make sure to use a tripod and the timer settings as well.

alright, i was all happy that i got photobucket back, but then i remembered that my pics are crappy. well, i'm posting them anyway. i thought i did pretty good in getting 5 out of the 7 on my favorite zoa's list(1 is still on the way), plus a couple more. the only 2 i don't have are Yellow eclipses and Dalmation W/Blue Eye's. i don't think i have much hope on the Dalmation's. anyway, here they are, and the pics don't do them justice at all.
Armor of God's (my favorites, by far)

I have some Desert Foxes, too. but i can't seem to get a decent pic. anyway, all of these zoa's are growing like mad, and fast. i switched the lighting to a more 14k look, and the colors just popped.

Coralnutz is correct about taking a lot of pictures of one coral to get a good one!

here we go again. i tried out the tripod. it seemed to work out ok. so here's somewhat better pics including my Desert Foxs' and my Pearl bubble coral.

Armor of God's and xenia(that doesn't seem to grow)

I haven't had any of those zoa's for even a month yet and they've all at least doubled their polyps! i'm still amazed at how fast they grow. i got the Xmen, Desert Foxes, and 007's only 2 weeks (if that) ago. they all have at least 3 new developing polyps! i think i finally found a coral I'm good at raising :D
:cyclopsani:

Nice tank setup and good progress on growing them : )

Here is few tips for taking pics.

If pics are blurry than it is because of followings
1. forcus is not so good so tripod will help (helps not to move while taking pics)
2. Your camera lens is not Parallel with your tank glass/acrylic if you are taking pics trough glass/acrylic (If your camera is little angled with glass/acrylic, pics always come out blurry as well)
3. Clean your glass/acylic will help (If you are taking pics trough glass/acylic)

If pics does not match well with what you see...
only one reason white balance. Depending on your camera and model white balance adjustment is different so you need to spend good amount of time on it but if you could figure this out on your camera than bingo : )

i didn't know the camera had to be parallel, that's probably my problem. thanks! i have a nikon coolpix 7600, which shouldn't be a bad camera. the last pics i used a tripod, and i think they look better. anyway, so far every single zoa i have, i got from mschriskim. he's helped me huge with the care of these guys and continues to help me. trust me, don't hesitate to buy from him, his zoa's are awesome!
