Hello! I just got home with a few additions to cleanup crew and a new hammer coral. I dropped the new crew in and dipped my hammer in some ReVive and I noticed this firm white worm-like thing hanging from it. It is not moving whatsoever. I'm not sure if this is part of the coral and I should leave it be, or a critter I should have been more aggressive with. I put it in the QT along with everything else and wanted to see what the community made of it.

Thoughts?

I'm guessing it's a feather duster worm tube. The worm might have been killed by the dip though. It should be easy to remove it from the frag using tweezers... but it's harmless so if you want to wait to see if it survived, there's no problem leaving it.

Edit: it's definitely not part of the hammer

Looks like some kind of worm. I'd do a fresh water dip and remove it.
The coral was already dipped, and the "worm" is a hard tube. No need to subject the hammer to a freshwater dip when the tube can easily be removed from the skeleton.

It looks like hammer coral. Greens, purples/pinks, browns, oranges/yellows, and blues are some of the colors available for hammers. They typically have darker tentacles with lighter tips, though they can appear uniform in color at times.

Huh???
