Is this normal or could it be something else.

In general, it doesn't look great but it could just be annoyed. If you could circle the exact spot/spots you are most concerned about, that would help.

I’m not sure how to circle images but it is the back of it currently in this picture.

I am assuming that you are referring to the circled area?

If so, it is difficult to diagnose unless you let us know how long you have had the coral, what are all the parameters, what tank inhabitants you have in your DT that it has been homed in and how long it has been like this. All that information will go a long way in helping narrow down possible causes and finding effective remedies.

I just received this hammer coral today. It is beside a frogspawn frag and in the tank there is a Kenya tree, green star polyps, and Xenia, and a toadstool. I have 2 clownfish and a bicolor blenny

Likely shipping or handling damage. Did you treat with a coral dip? I would just let her ride and see how she fares. Corals are fairly hardy critters given good and consistent water quality. Keep us posted.

Yes I dipped. I hope it recovers. Thank you!

It looks receeded but ok and I do see some babies forming on the branch
