Hey, I’m James I’m new to the reef life. I currently have a fish only tank. I would love to get in to corals though. I’m currently looking for recommendations for lighting that won’t break the bank, yet will allow me to have any type of coral.

T5's are probably the least expensive option to start with and you don't have to mess with setting color spectrums. AI has good LED's for a decent price. Radions with a diffuser is probably the Ferrari of the LED world.

Hi James! I have the infamous "black boxes" which Crabs M is speaking of. I do not have lots of experience in the whole reefing stuff. I'm basically building up my tank right now. But they do work well and I had to dial the lights down to about 50%. I do plan on upgrading when I get the chance. I got mine for a really cheap price off of Wish.com. Welcome to the group!
