Hey! I've worked at a saltwater hatchery going on four years now, but as far as my personal tank I've got a jbj nano cube with t5s, two clowns, a pair of diamond gobies (I know, I'm upgrading as soon as I get a bigger place, those fish are going to love it) and a couple of inverts and corals. I just had a few placement/flow questions as I've mainly only had LPS. If I have two t5 coral life bulbs (I know, total junk) is it even possible to get stuff like Pavonas, favias, or any stuff that requires high light? I've mainly only been putting in LPS: duncan coral, zoas, kenya trees, mushrooms, palys etc. As far as I know everything but the duncan has been in low light even though they are scattered around the tank. (duncan is at the very top, and have another kenya at the VERY top of the tank) I have GSP growing on my walls (finally, took a long time to glue) and so I definitely want to have some more encrusting things in my tank as I love the look.
Mainly I'm concerned/looking to buy some pavonas, montis, maybe a brain coral or five and want to make sure they would be ok. I had a red monti that I moved into a sibling's tank and promptly died. It was doing ok in my care and not in hers. I had good polyp extension and such though so who knows.
Also I would like something about 4" in diameter to sit on the sand bed or on a piece of liverock as a showcase piece, but something my gobies won't spit sand all over and kill it. Maybe a leather? Any suggestions (or pictures) would be great!

), Blacker Ice Ocellaris, two diamond back sand eater gobies (hiding behing the rock on the bottom left, and as far as corals I have a condy, duncan, two kenya trees, spotted mushroom, striped mushroom, two types of palys, GSP on the back wall, candy canes, and some waving hand xenia. About to grab a golden pavona as my first "expensive" coral to go on the top shelf rock, think it'll be ok up there? May try to grab an acan for that bottom left open spot on the bottom.
