I'm pretty sure I was on this site years ago with my first reef tank, a 46-gallon bowfront, when my boys were in high school. About 6 years ago, I upgraded to a 90 and have been maintaining that ever since. Unfortunately, life got in the way and my tank suffered a bit. I lost most of my corals, but kept most of my fish alive during these "life transitions." My boys grew up and went different directions and now live in 3 different states. Fast forward ahead, and in addition to our 3 sons, we have added 3 daughter-in-laws and 5 grandchildren! We were considering downsizing and taking down the tank, but after thinking long and hard, we decided to stay. I upgraded my light, which was no longer functioning well (and for sure didn't help my coral situation) to a new LED. I battled a terrible GHA outbreak, which is mostly under control now after restarting GFO in my phosphate reactor and adding a new clean-up crew. I also changed the filters in my RO/DI unit. As I've learned after 11+ years in the hobby that patience, patience, patience is what it takes. I invested in some new test kits and will add corals again once the parameters are good.
I look forward to participating in this forum once again, and I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions, but maybe I can also help answer some along the way!
