New here - might as well start with a build thread

Recently had a ich out break in the process of starting a new build and have 3 tanks running. Its all a long story but I was going from a 110 tall to a 180. Had everything in a 40 breeder that is sitting fallow now with corals while fish are in a hospital tank with copper power.

In the meantime this gave me time to get the 180 up and running with new water, sand and freshly cured rock. Currently have 1 maroon clown and 1 domino damsel in there. Plenty of swimming room for them. Lol

The 40 will be staying fallow until mid December and the copper treatment will be done in 15 days. I'm not sure if I need to bring the copper down slowly or if the fish can just be removed and put back in my display so any advice on that would be great.

Welcome to the forum! Interesting question on the copper, I've never heard it asked. I've also never heard of acclimating off the copper for what it's worth!

Well that's good enough for me. I have looked for a answer for a while with no conclusion. I was starting to assume a WC and some carbon would bring it down. Thanks for the advice and welcoming.

My 30 days of copper ended yesterday: I did a 25% water change yesterday and a 50% water change today. I would have done more, but I intend to continue to observe in that tank until the DT is ready (fallow) in late December, and want to keep some cycled water going. Like the other poster, I too have not heard of the need to remove cooper slowly. In fact, to the extent it can be likened to ‘fish chemotherapy’ (i.e., calculated poison), I always assumed my fish wanted out-of-there a.s.a.p. Best wishes!

Got some decent photos of a couple corals in my 40. I have a happy hammer and a happy frogspawn and 2 unhappy frogspawn. I just can't seem to figure out what the deal is with them. Then a $10 mushroom that I have no idea what exact kind it is. [emoji16]
