New here! Picking up my first tank tomorow

Hey everyone!! I’m picking up my first tank tomorrow hopefully! I attached a picture and description of what I’m getting. This is my first saltwater tank I’m setting up, I have read and watched out of videos on how to set up and take care of one. What do you guys think of this tank and before I set it up and put water in it what do you recommend me still buying or may need.. I’m looking to start out with fish and then maybe down the road get a few soft corals. Thanks for your input.
P.S it’s going to take some time for me to set it up what is the best way of keeping the live rock alive?

Welcome to R2R...

Keeping the live rock alive is as simple as Brute Garbage can, with a power head in a warm place such as a garage. You could cycle the rock in the trashcan while you are getting the tank up and running. Ideally you should aquascape your rock, glue it together, add sand if that is what you want, add water and off you go.

Not sure about the lighting. Lights would be good for fish.

Get some chaeto and a good horticulture pink light for the fuge.
Check for leaks on any used system
Watch what fish you buy, they'll limit your coral choices later.
I bought a blue spotted puffer before deciding to get corals. I love him, but he is why we cant have nice things.
So 3rd tank.
Not a fan of glass lids, better to use screening material.

You could mix up some saltwater in 5g hd buckets for the liverock.

Thank you for the information! I was actually thinking of picking up a reef octopus protein skimmer and going away with the fuge.

They complement each other, the skimmer is not good at removing small molecule nitrate and phosphate, which is fertilizer for the chaeto. But starting with fish only, you could add the fuge later. Get the reef octo with varios dc pump. I have the elite and adjust the speed down to match the organic load for more efficient skimming.
Lots to learn and a reflection of the natural world.
